Once again, the Augusta Athletic Department is offering a spring elementary basketball league. The Augusta Elementary Basketball League (AEBL) is a recreational and educational basketball league comprised of students in grades K-6. The league is designed to accommodate players of all skill levels!

This league will run on Tuesdays and Saturdays from March 21 through April 29 and will consist of drills for skill development and game play.  The kids will be divided into groups by grade (K-3/4-6) and/or skill level.  The drills will be completed in roving stations allowing more to be covered as well as individualized instruction.  Games will consist of two 12-minute halves with a running clock. There will be a short break at half time. Each player will play in every game and the league will encourage teamwork and good sportsmanship. The number of teams we have will be based on the number of players that sign up.  Each session will consist of two one-hour time blocks Tuesday (3:00-4:00 for K-3 and 4:00-5:00 for 4-6), Saturday (9:00-10:00 for K-3 and 10:00-11:00 for 4-6).  Children must attend the skills development sessions to be able to play in the games that week.

The league fee this year will be $25.00. Each participant will receive a T-shirt and a small award at the end of the season. The money and this permission slip need to be returned to the school by Friday, March 17th. Checks can be made out to the Augusta Athletic Department. If you have any questions, please contact Troy Jones at (606) 407-1888 or AD Jason Hinson at the school.
